Gwen Starkey is finally home from the hospital after over a year-long battle with COVID and spending more than 375 days in the hospital.

Dr. Jacqueline Smith, pulmonologist, has joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital as a fulltime member of the hospital’s medical staff. In this role, Dr. Smith will work with patients to restore respiratory function following a serious disease or injury.

The Claytons have been through a lot together as a husband and wife, including, most recently recovering from COVID-19. After receiving initial treatment, they were transferred to MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital for post-COVID-19 rehabilitation. After regaining function and strength, the couple can now claim they have beat COVID-19 and are now back home.
