At Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Bedford and serving the greater Forth Worth area, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, spinal cord injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Toni A. Willis, M.D. is the medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities. Dr. Willis graduated from Wellesley College and attended Howard University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Willis is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Willis is an independent private practice physician.
Chief Nursing Officer
Vicki is the chief nursing officer at Encompass Health Mid-Cities. She brings more than 20 years of nursing and leadership experience to the team and has been with Encompass Health for 13 years. Vicki is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a graduate of Vernon College and Chamberlain College of Nursing. Vicki and her team are passionate about quality care and serving our patients with professionalism, dignity and respect. She and her team aim to deliver the best rehabilitative nursing care with the highest level of patient satisfaction.
Isabella W. Du joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities, formerly HealthSouth Rehabilitation of Hospital of the Mid-Cities in July 2019. She received her master’s degree in accounting in 2009. Prior to joining Encompass Health Mid Cities, Isabella gained valuable experience while employed at HCA Healthcare-North Cypress. Isabella oversees the complete accounting system and financial function of the hospital. This includes charges, billing, A/R, cash receipts, collections, A/P, payroll, general ledger, forecasting, budgeting, internal controls, audits and hospital contracts. She also works closely with the CEO in improving the hospital’s financial performance and supports the leadership team with information needed to succeed.
Director of Human Resources
Frances Fuentes has more than 15 years of experience in human resources management. She graduated from the University of the Sacred Heart of Puerto Rico with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She also holds a master's degree in business administration/human resources from the Metropolitan University of Puerto Rico.
Director of Therapy Operations
Lisa Roberson has been at Encompass Health Mid-Cities, formerly HealthSouth Mid-Cities since 2011. She received a doctorate of occupational therapy from Eastern Kentucky University May 2019, her master’s degree in public administration from Hodges University and her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy, with a minor in psychology, from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994. Prior to her role with HealthSouth, she worked for Brookdale Senior Living, serving as regional director of ISC Operations, in the position of administrator for multi-site outpatient therapy and home health administrator. Lisa has a passion for teaching, post-acute and geriatric rehabilitation with emphasis on home modifications for the support of aging in place.
