Chief Executive Officer
Jason came back to his West Texas roots by joining Encompass Health Midland Odessa in September 2018 as chief executive officer. With more than 20 years of multidisciplinary healthcare experience, he has held numerous positions within Encompass Health including serving as the interim CEO of Encompass Health Tinton Falls, nurse manager and director of quality and risk management at Encompass Health of Midland Odessa and associate administrator at Encompass Health Concord in New Hampshire. He holds associate and bachelor’s degrees in nursing from Angelo State University and multiple nursing certifications, including the distinction of Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.
Dr. Fredrickson has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa for more than 22 years. He graduated in 1992 from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medical and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Fredrickson is an independent private practice physician.
Chief Nursing Officer
Katie Flora joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa team in October 2017 as a nursing supervisor. She transitioned to case management in November 2019, but was quickly promoted to chief nursing officer in October 2020. Katie attended Angelo State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She came to Encompass Health from Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo where she worked for seven years. Katie's most recent experience was in the intensive care unit, but she also worked on orthopedic and cardiac floors. She also worked as an emergency room charge nurse at the critical access hospital in Rankin for 5 years.
Director of Quality & Risk
Brianna is a registered nurse with more than 10 years of clinical experience in ortho-neuro, medical oncology and rehabilitation nursing. She joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland/Odessa team in 2015 as the nurse manager and transitioned into her current role as the director of quality and risk in 2018. Brianna graduated Summa Cum Laude from Abilene Christian University in 2007 with her bachelor’s degree in animal science (pre-vet) and then pursued her nursing career at Midland College, graduating in 2009. Brianna has a passion for providing the best inpatient experience and seeing patients thrive.
Vivian Irwin joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa as controller in April 2013. She has eight years of experience in rehabilitation at both the hospital and corporate levels. Her experience includes 20 years in finance and accounting, including previous positions as a CFO, staff accountant and financial analyst. Vivian has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in business computer systems from New Mexico State University. She is a New Mexico native and lived in Arizona for five years before relocating to Midland with her husband and two children. In her spare time, Vivian enjoys the outdoors, sporting events and spending time with her family.
Hospital HIPAA Officer/HIMS Supervisor
Laurie has been employed with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa, for more than 25 years. She began her employment with the hospital in the business office in 1994, returned to college to pursue a course of study in health information coding. Laurie graduated with from Midland College in 2003. She transitioned to HIMS department later in 2003 and assumed the role of the HIPAA officer in February 2019.
Human Resources Director
Tina serves as the human resources director for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa and has worked for Encompass Health for more than 10 years. She has been a resident of west Texas her entire life and moved to the Midland area around 15 years ago. She recently completed her master’s certificate in human resources.
Director of Case Management
Summer joined the Encompass Health Midland Odessa team in October of 2015. She was quickly promoted from her original job of case manager to the director of case management role in early 2017. Having been raised in Crane and attending Angelo State University, where she received her bachelor’s degree of nursing, she is at home in West Texas. Summer came to Encompass Health Midland Odessa from Midland Memorial Hospital where she served as a charge nurse in the OBGYN department.
Business Development Director
Maria joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland in 2014. Maria and her husband, both Midland natives, traveled for some time due to his active military status. They have returned to Midland, where they call home, to raise their two children. Maria has a master's degree in healthcare administration and started her career in the healthcare industry with Encompass. She has held various positions at Encompass that include medical staff credentialing, as an administrative assistant to the CEO, admissions liaison and as a senior rehab liaison in the sales and marketing department. She now serves as the business development director and is truly passionate about serving the needs of our community.
Director of Therapy Operations
Marly joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa in 1994 as the director of physical therapy and was promoted to the director of therapy operations. A native of the Philippines, Marly received her physical therapy degree from the University of the Philippines, College of Allied Health and Medical Professions. She moved to Texas in 1985.
Director of Pharmacy
Christopher brings more than 25 years of pharmacy experience to Encompass Health. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. He has over 16 years of retail pharmacy experience. Christopher has been with Encompass Health since 2014.
