Medical Director
Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan welcomed Ashli Alexander, M.D., MPH, as medical director in January of 2018. Dr. Alexander is a board certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. She received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and specializes in the management and treatment of complex rehabilitation patients. Dr. Alexander has medical expertise in caring for patients with occupational injuries, neurological disorders, spinal disorders, stroke, amputations, sports-related injuries and pain disorders.
Dr. Alexander is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Therapy Operations
Kent brings more than 20 years of healthcare management and leadership experience to Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy and has a master's degree in business administration from the University of West Georgia. He also completed a doctoral degree in physical therapy from the University of Montana. He has been active in the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia serving as a former president and a member of the board of directors.
Director of Human Resources
Lori has been with Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan since July 2024. She has worked in healthcare for over five years and brings 25 years of experience in human resources. A Michigan native, she graduated from the University of Michigan – Flint with a bachelor’s degree in music performance. Lori then earned a master’s degree in business administration from Concordia University Wisconsin.
Director of Business Development
Brandy began her career in healthcare at the early age of 13 as a candy striper at her local hospital. In high school Brandy earned a certification in nursing assisting and later worked as a surgical technician on labor and delivery. Brandy graduated from nursing school in 2005. She has worked in labor and delivery, med-surg, hospice and case management. While working in case management she found a passion for educating patients and families on hospital discharge options. In 2014, Brandy transitioned to the sales and marketing side of post-acute care. Since that time, she has been passionately committed to advocating for patient access to the right care at the right time.
Controller
Stephanie has been with Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan since 2020 and was recently promoted to controller. She has worked in healthcare for four years and has more than 20 years of experience in accounting. An Illinois native, she graduated from the University of Illinois - Springfield with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy.
Director of Case Management
Shellee is the director of case management at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan and has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. She graduated from the University of West Georgia with her associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing with a focus on clinical nurse leadership and with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Shellee also has a public health teaching certificate in the state of Georgia as a technical expert instructor for Healthcare Science. She has worked in emergency and critical care medicine, labor and delivery, orthopedics, home health was the child health coordinator for Paulding County in the public health field, and taught healthcare science in the Georgia public school system for over 10 years before coming to Encompass Health.
Director of Pharmacy
Akela is the director of pharmacy at Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA. To continue her education, she completed a pharmacy practice residency at Columbus Regional Hospital. Akela has worked at institutions including Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA, Columbus Specialty Hospital in Columbus, GA, West Central Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA and Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City, AL.
Senior Facilities Management Director
Wolf began his career with Encompass Health at Walton Rehabilitation Hospital in 2010 as a maintenance mechanic and was promoted to maintenance manager and then facilities management director for Encompass Health’s Newnan Facility in January 2020. His prior experience includes maintenance engineering positions in the hospitality industry. Wolf’s expertise includes engineering, environmental services, security, and safety. Wolf graduated from Pennco Technical College obtaining his degree in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration.
Area Controller
Donovan serves as the area controller for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan. He brings more than 15 years of accounting and healthcare finance experience to the team. Throughout his career, he has focused on implementing industry best practices to build people, processes and systems. He has experience in medical group management, home health and hospice, and critical access hospitals, as well as implementing information systems. Donovan is a thoughtful and inclusive leader who believes in building relationships while developing a clear strategy to achieve operational goals. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Georgia Southern University.
Director of Quality & Risk
Leigh has been part of Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan since it opened in 2014. She was responsible for building the hospital’s stroke program and therapy clinical education programs from the ground up. After 15 years as a physical therapist with expertise in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation, Leigh transitioned into the director of quality and risk role in January 2024. She received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of West Georgia in 2005, a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Emory University School of Medicine in 2008 and became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality in 2021.
Chief Nursing Officer
Ashley was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has lived in the Newnan, Georgia area for the past 12 years. She earned her ADN degree from Southern Union State Community College and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University. She is currently pursuing an MBA with a focus on healthcare administration. Ashley has been an RN since 2000, working in emergency services, oncology, hospice, quality and leadership. She has served in clinical and operational leadership roles for the past 10 years. Ashley and her husband, Jay, have four children.
