Vidhya joined Encompass Health in June 2010 and has served in several leadership positions.
Vidhya joined Encompass Health in June 2010 and has served in several leadership positions. After completing the self-paced CEO program within Encompass Health, she served as the CEO at one of the Phoenix hospitals within Encompass Health before returning to the northern Virginia area. She has successfully led multiple high-impact projects and has served on the Inclusion and Diversity Council. Vidhya’s clinical background includes a doctorate in physical therapy from Shenandoah University and more than 22 years of experience serving in clinical and operational roles in varied healthcare settings. She takes pride in leading an exceptional team of staff who strive for excellence while focusing on restoring patients’ independence and promoting safety through evidence-informed practices.
Medical Director
Dr. Samdani was appointed as medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia in 2011 and opened a private practice at the same location. His philosophy of service to the patient along with the support of a great rehabilitation team creates excellence in both patient care and outcomes. In 2005, Dr. Samdani started working as medical director of the inpatient rehabilitation facility at Henrico Doctors Hospital, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Samdani is a board certified physiatrist. He graduated from Kurnool Medical College, India, in 1988 in the top ten of his class. Dr. Samdani has completed a general surgery residence and received a master's degree in surgery. He moved to the United States in 1998 and worked as a house staff (PGY-1) in Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He enrolled in the physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program at the SUNY at Stony Brook University in New York. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Medical Society of State of New York and Richmond Academy of Medicine.
Dr. Samdani is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Case Management
Stephany joined Encompass Health as a case manager in December of 2019. Stephany’s clinical background includes a master's degree in nursing and business administration from Western Governors University. She has been a registered nurse for over seven years and has been working in healthcare for 14 years. She is certified in case management and finds fulfillment in working with other members of the team to secure continuity of care. She values her role in helping patients get the best care possible throughout their recovery period.
Business Development Director
Heather joined Encompass Health in August 2023 as the business development director. Prior to joining Encompass Health, she worked in home health and senior living settings. Heather holds a bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University and has over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry focusing on sales and operations. She is a skilled strategic planner and is ardent about benefiting the community by creating patient access to rehabilitation.
Director of Facilities Management
Chuck Henry joined Encompass Health in February 2024. He has over 30 years of experience in healthcare facility maintenance. He holds a Class III Mechanical Certification, CHEPP Certification, ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Certification, OSHA 10 Certification and has been a member of the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) for over 20 years. He supervises the operations at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia, including all building sections and grounds, utilities, energy management systems and safety/security systems in order to provide a safe, healthy and comfortable environment for the patients and staff.
Chief Financial Officer
Desiree joined Encompass Health in 2019. She started at Encompass Health Fredericksburg and transferred to Encompass Health Northern Virginia in 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut and her MBA from Shenandoah University. She has over 25 years of healthcare experience, ranging from hospitals to regional reference labs. She brings a strong background in budget preparation, cost containment and AR management and has been an active member of the boards for several non-profit health related agencies. She enjoys playing tennis and competes at regional level USTA tournaments.
Chief Nursing Officer
Amrit joined Encompass Health in 2014 and has demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership in various roles, including charge nurse, nurse supervisor and interim nurse manager. With a robust clinical background as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), Amrit holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing, education and commerce. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in nursing leadership and management. Amrit's leadership is characterized by a passion for innovation, excellence in patient outcomes and a dedication to fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment for her team.
Director Health Information Management
Gabe joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia in May of 2012 as a rehab therapy tech. In 2016, he transitioned to the role of supervisor of health information management after receiving a master’s degree in health informatics administration. In 2018, he obtained an RHIA certification and in 2019, transitioned to the role of director of health information management and hospital HIPAA officer where he is responsible for the privacy and security of protected health information. Gabe also serves as the President of the District of Columbia Health Information Management Association (DCHIMA) where he helps to serve HIM professional in the DMV area.
Director or Quality and Risk Management
Christina joined Encompass Health in August 2013 and has worked in several roles at this location, including the nurse manager role. Her clinical background includes a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain University and a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) certification. She has been a nurse for 12 years, the majority of which has been in the acute care rehabilitation setting. Christina is passionate about working with the interdisciplinary team to provide the best possible care for patients and possesses an innate ability to mitigate risks through performance improvement initiatives.
Director of Pharmacy
Erin joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia in July 2010 as a part-time pharmacist and was promoted to director of pharmacy in October of the same year. Prior to working at Encompass Health, she worked at Giant Pharmacy for more than 20 years serving as a staff pharmacist and manager of three pharmacies. Erin completed a pre-pharmacy program at Mary Washington College, now named the University of Mary Washington, and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Erin is a member of VPha and also is a preceptor for Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy.
