Chief Executive Officer
Jeff, CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa, has 29 years of healthcare experience in both acute and post-acute settings. For four years prior to his current role, he served as CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill. Prior to that, he served as CEO of a 34-bed long term acute care hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Alexander achieved a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield and a master’s degree in business administration from Benedictine University.
Medical Director
Kadir Carruthers, M.D is the medical director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa. He is a native of Sebring, FL. Dr. Carruthers attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He earned his medical degree at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2018. Dr. Carruthers is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with additional subspecialty board certification in Brain Injury Medicine. He enjoys traveling, various outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Carruthers is active in numerous professional organizations.
Dr. Carruthers is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Pharmacy
Jason received both his bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in genetics from Iowa State University and a doctorate of pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas. Prior to joining the Encompass Health team in North Tampa, he served in director of pharmacy positions with Encompass Health hospitals in Ocala, Florida and Bryan, Texas. He is credited with several publications and national poster presentations, and he comes to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa with more than 10 years of pharmacy director experience.
Director of Therapy Operations
Andrew is the director of therapy operations for the team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa. Including his 19 years of leadership experience, he brings 26 years of inpatient physical therapy experience to his role of overseeing the therapy operations at the hospital. Andrew graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Health Related Professions in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.
Director of Quality and Risk
Angela joined the leadership team at Encompass Health of North Tampa after serving at Encompass Health’s inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Rockford, Illinois. She started her career with Encompass Health in 2004 as a certified nursing assistant. She later worked as a registered nurse and a prospective payment system coordinator before moving into the directory of quality position in 2013. Angela earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Anthony College of Nursing as well as a bachelor's degree in agriculture - animal science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also holds certifications in rehabilitation nursing and healthcare risk management. Angela is a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, International Association of Forensic Nurses and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
Director of Facilities Management
Prior to joining the team at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa, William “Bill” Donish worked for Encompass Health’s hospital in Largo since 2018 and also previously served as the director of facilities management for a large skilled nursing facility in Tampa. An electrician by trade, he has held several positions including a master lead at St. Anthony Hospital, and has several certifications in his area of expertise. Before entering the healthcare setting, Bill was in retail management.
Chief Nursing Officer
Amy joined Encompass Health in September 2017. She came to Encompass Health after serving four years with HCA, where she began her career on a medical/surgical unit. Prior to working in healthcare, Amy worked as an investigator for the Department of Children and Families and as an educator. Amy began her leadership journey while serving as an educator and used those skills to become a nurse manager on a medical/surgical unit. Amy received her associate degree of nursing from Gulf Coast College, her bachelor’s degree from Chipola College and her master’s degree in nursing education from Western Governor’s University. In addition, she completed a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on healthcare management from Western Governor’s University. Amy holds certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, holds membership with the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, and has served on advisory boards for the BSN and ADN program at Gulf Coast College.
Controller
Kimberly is a certified public accountant with more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience. She joined Encompass Health in 2010. Prior to that, she was an assistant vice president with a real estate finance company with an emphasis on financial projections and reporting. She graduated from the University of Florida with a master’s degree in accounting.
Senior Certified Director of Case Management
Claire joined the leadership team at Encompass Health of North Tampa after working at Encompass Health’s inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Largo. A social worker by trade, she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida State University and a master’s degree in business administration in healthcare management from Saint Leo University. Prior to her time with Encompass Health, she spent eight years in acute care as a medical social worker, where she was promoted to supervisor of social services and served on the Ethics Committee. Claire is passionate about serving our patients and ensuring patients are successfully discharged through our interdisciplinary processes.
