At Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and serving Greensboro and High Point, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, hip fracture, brain injury, amputation and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

Dr. McLean has served as medical director of rehabilitation medicine for Forsyth Medical Center since 1997, and also serves as a staff physiatrist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and a medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed an internship with University of Kentucky Medical Center in internal medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, trauma surgery, emergency medicine and pediatrics. Dr. McLean also completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Dr. McLean is an independent private practice physician.
Controller
Tammy brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience in several areas of hospital finance and accounting. During her career she has worked in the acute care, skilled nursing, rural hospital and pharmacy settings. Tammy has a bachelor's degree in accounting degree from High Point University, master's degree in accounting degree from University of Maryland and master's degree in business administration degree from UNC-Greensboro.

Erica brings more than 14 years of nursing experience to her role as chief nursing officer. During this time she has practiced as both a staff nurse and a nurse leader in her former role of director of nursing. She obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from University of Indiana Weslyn and her master's degree from Western Governors University. She also holds membership to ARN.

Chris brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare sales management to the business development director position. During this time, he has worked in the home health, long-term care, long-term acute care and acute care settings. Chris received his bachelor’s degree in applied science from East Tennessee State University where he also attended and graduated from ETSU’s respiratory therapy program. Chris is also a licensed respiratory therapy practitioner in the state of North Carolina.

Chanelle brings five years of case management experience to her role as director of quality and risk at Novant Health Rehabilitation Hospital including the areas of adult and pediatric emergency departments, neonatal/mother baby units and most recently inpatient rehabilitation. Early on in her career, Chanelle spent time working on Capitol Hill advocating for policy reform. She is a graduate of New York University with a master’s degree in social work and Winston Salem State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work.
