Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City recently expanded its patient care services by adding on-site cardiologists to its medical staff and expanding its telemetry monitoring capabilities, as an addition to the existing The Joint Commission Heart Failure program.

On April 28th, 2022, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City celebrated its 25th anniversary with food and music for staff, physicians and local community members. 25 years ago, the hospital opened its doors and began its commitment to helping members of their community regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury.
Hospital Happenings
Following serious complications due to cancer treatment and subsequent abdominal surgeries, Mr. Constanitne Butchakis was placed on a ventilator and spent over a month healing in the hospital. He was brought to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City just two days before his 46th wedding anniversary. The team at Encompass Health of Panama City wanted to make the day extra special for Mr. and Mrs. Butchakis, so they ordered a special meal and set up the room for a romantic lunch date. Mr. Butchakis was able to enjoy regular food for the first time in months, which made the day even more special.

Melvin truly lives the Encompass Health Way, he has a positive spirit and is committed to going above and beyond, never settling for anything less than excellence. He has proven to work to better serve our patients and the company by meeting the current challenges in his field; even with supply chain issues, when medical supplies are needed, but hard to come by, Melvin steps up and goes the extra mile to find them.
