Chief Executive Officer
Shivani joined The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in 2007 starting her career at TRISL as a physical therapist and has served in a variety of hospital leadership roles. Shivani completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, graduating in 2004. She then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Washington University in 2007.
Medical Director
Dr. Boeving started at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in July of 2022, and was appointed medical director in February 2023.
Dr. Boeving started at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in July of 2022, and was appointed medical director in February 2023. Dr. Boeving is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and specializes in cancer rehabilitation, complex medical issues, multi-trauma, spasticity management and stroke rehabilitation. Dr. Boeving earned a medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida. As the medical director of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis, he actively participates in the daily efforts to advance the efficiency, effectiveness and quality of rehabilitation care provided. His hobbies include cycling, photography, entomology, hiking and horticulture.
Dr. Boeving is an independent private practice physician.
Director of Therapy Operations
Kara Barks currently serves as the director of therapy. Kara joined Encompass Health in 2015. Kara completed her master’s degree in occupational therapy from Saint Louis University. Prior to becoming the director of therapy operations at the St. Peters location Kara served as the occupational therapy team leader and the manager of the St. Peters therapy department.
Director of Business Development
Ashton joined The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in 2017 as a rehabilitation liaison and currently serves as business development director. She has 13 years of admissions, marketing and business development experience across the post acute care continuum. Ashton earned her bachelor's degree at Michigan State University in 2003.
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Cole is a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
Dr. Cole is a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He obtained his M.D. from the University of Missouri School of Medicine and then completed his internship at Washington University in St. Louis within the department of internal medicine. He then completed three years of specialty training in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as chief resident. As a physiatrist, he specializes in the management of conditions that impact a patient’s function and quality of life such as musculoskeletal disorders, post-amputation management, prosthetics/orthotics, stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuropathy, geriatric rehabilitation, cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, movement disorders and general debility.
Dr. Cole is an independent private practice physician.
Chief Nursing Officer
Tammiell currently serves as chief nursing officer at the St. Peters location. Tammiell has held a variety of clinical leadership roles across the patient care continuum and has been with Encompass Health since 2016. Tammiell diverse practice experience serves her well as an advocate on behalf of patients, nurses and the profession. Tammiell received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain University. She is also a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and has achieved the title of Certified Rehabilitation Rehab Nurse (CRRN).
Director of Plant Operations
Jeremy joined MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital in 2008. He was named the area facilities management director in 2023, adding The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis - St. Peters to his daily operations. Jeremy graduated from Fort Scott Community College with an associate degree in science.
Controller
Jackie joined The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis in January 2022. She serves as the controller and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Missouri. Prior to joining TRISL, Jackie had more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, most recently at a large acute care health system.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Angie serves as the director of quality and risk management. She has more than ten years of healthcare experience specifically at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
Doctor of Pharmacy
Matt completed his Doctor of Pharmacy at St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2014 and his ASHP Accreditation Standard for Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency in 2015. During Matt’s tenure in pharmacy, he has held supervisor and leadership positions. Matt joined Encompass Health in 2018 and was named the director of pharmacy in 2022.
