Mike has served as chief executive officer for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast since December 2020. For 18 years prior to assuming the role of chief executive officer, Mike served in various senior leadership roles in acute care hospital systems. Most recently, he served as president of a tertiary acute care hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Dr. Jimmy Lockhart is the chief medical officer and medical director at Encompass Health Treasure Coast Rehabilitation Hospital. A graduate of Meharry Medical College, Dr. Lockhart completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Lockhart is an independent private practice physician.

Ashley began her journey at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast as an occupational therapy assistant student in 2018. She returned to Encompass Health in 2020 as a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA). In October 2022, she transitioned to a rehabilitation liaison, quickly advancing to the role of senior rehabilitation liaison in August 2023. Today, Ashley proudly serves as the business development director. She holds a bachelor's degree from The University of Alabama. Ashley began her career in healthcare in 2017 to honor the memory of her parents. She is passionate about being a voice for the voiceless and is dedicated to advocating for patients, ensuring they receive the care and rehabilitation needed to return home to their loved ones.

Christine DeLong has been part of the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast team since May 2000. Shortly after, she became the hospital HIPAA officer (HHO). The most important function of an HHO is to be the hospital employees’ real time resource for HIPAA-related questions, concerns, and information. Christine is an advocate for HIPAA through various activities to maintain employee awareness is critical to a successful HIPAA privacy program. The HHO also plays a crucial role in relaying important information to and from the corporate privacy office. Participation in many of the functions noted above, she assists with reporting and investigating any potential/confirmed HIPAA violations helps to ensure an effective program.

Sophia joined Encompass Health Treasure Coast in December 2023. She has more than 25 years’ accounting experience spanning several industries. A native of Jamaica, Sophia earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from University of the West Indies and her master's degree in business administration from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management. She recently earned the Certified Management Accountant designation from the Institute of Management Accountants. Sophia shares the value that Encompass Health places on patient care: comfort, professionalism and respect.

Lisa joined Encompass Health Treasure Coast in October, 2007 as a licensed practical nurse with both acute care and rehabilitation background. Lisa is a long time resident of Vero Beach and a local graduate of Indian River State College where she earned her associate degree in nursing. She is a certified rehabilitation registered nurse and completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing leadership from Western Governors University.

Michelle joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast as the director of quality and risk management in September 2024. Her early nursing background includes OB-GYN and ICU care, and she worked for 18 years in various leadership roles for home health and hospice. A native of New Hampshire, Michelle lived in Connecticut, California, West Palm Beach, Florida and Virginia before moving to Vero Beach, Florida in 2021. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Keene State College in New Hampshire, her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Virginia and her gerontological nurse practitioner certification from Yale University. Michelle is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Sherry brings more than 20 years of human resource management experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast. She has worked in human resources in various industries including healthcare, construction and manufacturing. Sherry holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and a professional certification from the Society of Human Resources Management. She has a passion for healthcare and was a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years.

Ann has been with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast for 26 years. She has been the director of pharmacy for the past 13 years. Ann earned her pharmacy degree from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and her consultant license through the University of Florida. Prior to her current role at Encompass Health Treasure Coast, Ann was a pharmacist in large acute care hospitals. Ann and the entire Encompass Health Treasure Coast pharmacy team are passionately committed to achieving the most accurate medication reconciliation for our patients.

Jim joined the Encompass Health team in May 2023. Jim brings more than 25 years of life safety experience between government and oil companies and seven years of facilities director experience to the Treasure Coast hospital. Jim was an Investigator and trainer for the Florida State Fire Marshal Office and a certified fire fighter, law enforcement, and emergency trauma tech. Jim is also certification in OSHA, taproot, hazmat and an instructor for CPR, Medic first aid and AED.

Karrie joined the Encompass Health Hospital administrative team in May 2011. She began her career with Encompass Health in Princeton, WV and transferred to Vero Beach, FL in May 2016. Karrie has her bachelor’s degree from Greensboro College and is a Certified Case Manager as well as a NIDE Certified Dementia Professional. She has more than 20 years of case management experience, consisting of both acute care and inpatient rehabilitation.

Theresa began her career with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Treasure Coast in 2010 as an occupational therapist. She has more than 25 years of experience working in a therapy setting. Theresa received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wales in 2003. Her experiences have been varied, having the opportunity to work within inpatient, outpatient, hospice and home health environments on both sides of the Atlantic.
