Chief Executive Officer
Enid Gonzalez is the CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples. In the past 20 years, she has held clinical and managerial positions in different healthcare settings such as acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, outpatient clinics and rehabilitation hospitals. Enid has a bachelor's degree in physical therapy, a master's degree in public health as well as a master's degree in health services administration, all from the Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico. She was a faculty member of the Graduated Physical Therapy Program, Medical Sciences Campus, University of Puerto Rico and is currently a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, and American Hospital Association.
Medical Director
Dr. Medina was born and raised in Puerto Rico before earning a bachelor’s degree and a Doctor of Medicine degree.
Dr. Medina was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Stony Brook University (SUNY) and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Central del Caribe (Puerto Rico). He completed the physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) residency program at RUSK (NYU School of Medicine), as well as a one-year PM&R fellowship in the same institution. After finishing his training in New York, he moved to Florida where he worked as a physiatrist in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Dr. Medina has additional training in wound care and has worked in outpatient clinics and sub-acute facilities as a wound care consultant for many years. Since his arrival in southwest Florida, he has been a member of the medical staff at the Naples Community Hospital and has worked as a consultant in other healthcare facilities in the area. Dr. Medina is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Chief Nursing Officer
Michelle has more than 20 years of experience in nursing, from bedside to leadership. She has worked in telemetry units, emergency and trauma departments, intensive care units and at professional practices. She participated in Nursing Congress and gained leadership experience as hospital supervisor, team leader and manager. Michelle worked in a trauma level three facility that received a Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and was a five-time winner of the Truven Health 15 Top Health Systems. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Sinclair Community College and Ohio University. She is committed to elevating professional practice, employee engagement, and satisfaction, along with high-quality and patient-centered care.
Business Development Director
Jonathan brings more than a decade of healthcare experience to his role as business development director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples. He joined Encompass Health in 2011 and has served in various roles within the Company. Most recently, he served as the business development director at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Largo. Jonathan holds an associate of applied science degree in physical therapist assistant and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. His team completes clinical evaluations, provides marketing support, public relations, and inpatient rehabilitation education to a wide geographic service area.
Controller
Thomas has close to 25 years of healthcare experience, with focus primarily in home infusion and long-term acute care hospitals. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University and a master’s degree in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Director of Facilities Management
Al joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples team as director of facilities management in 2023.
Al joined the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples team as director of facilities management in 2023. He brings nearly 20 years of experience working in facility management areas. In 2013, Al first began with Encompass Health serving as maintenance mechanic at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tallahassee. Al has a bachelor’s degree in business administration in economics, specializing in financial management from Pontificia University Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.
Director of Pharmacy
Dr. Meriwether has over a decade of experience working in a variety of pharmacy settings. He has served as a pharmacy director at several critical access hospitals throughout Nebraska and Alaska. Leading with empathy, he brings a unique skill set of pharmacy management skills to the hospital. Dr. Meriwether graduated from Florida A&M University, magna cum laude, in 2014 as a Doctor of Pharmacy. A southern Florida native, Dr. Meriwether is ecstatic to bring his expertise to Encompass Health and the patients of Naples, Florida.
Human Resources Director
Neenu brings more than 10 years of human resource management experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples. Her passion in human resources is to cultivate a workplace that promotes employee well-being and employee engagement. Neenu’s main goal at Encompass Health Naples is to create and empower a diverse workforce and culture. Neenu received her master’s degree in organizational management and human resources from Ashford University, California.
Director of Therapy Operations
Jenn brings to the Encompass Health team almost 30 years of experience as a physical therapist in inpatient rehabilitation services. Jenn has served in leadership roles for the past 20 years and expanded her knowledge of clinical therapy services and regulatory guidelines. She obtained her PPS Coordinator Certification and completed advanced training on rehabilitation data analysis and reports. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Springfield College in Massachusetts.
Director of Quality & Risk
Alan brings more than 17 years of hospital leadership experience to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples. He completed his nursing degree at Maysville Community College and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Aspen University. He has more than 27 years of nursing experience. Alan holds national certifications in patient safety (CPPS) and healthcare quality (CPHQ) and is an active member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality. Alan is tirelessly focused on overall patient safety.
Director of Case Management
Lois has been in the healthcare field most of her adult life. She brings more than 15 years of experience at acute inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, focusing on long-term care. Lois holds a master’s degree in psychology, specializing on behavioral medicine from NorthCentral University in Arizona. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts and a licensed social worker degree from Massachusetts. Additionally, Lois is an accredited case manager as well as a certified brain injury specialist.
