ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Dec. 21, 2022- LaDessa Forrest has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Albuquerque. In her position as CEO, Forrest oversees the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality at the 87-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 7000 Jefferson Street NE. She assumed the position in November.

Since joining Encompass Health in 2015 as director of therapy operations at Wesley Rehabilitation Hospital, an affiliate of Encompass Health in Wichita, Kansas, Forrest has served in various leadership positions. She most recently served as CEO of Encompass Health of Richardson and as associate administrator at Encompass Health of Cypress in Houston, Texas.

“As a licensed occupational therapist, LaDessa brings more than 20 years of experience in various clinical and leadership positions to her role as CEO of Encompass Health of Albuquerque,” said Jerry Gray, president of Encompass Health’s West region. “She is an accomplished leader with proven success in improving patient outcomes, and I am excited to welcome her to her new CEO role.”

Forrest earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Newman University and her master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare management from Western Governor’s University. She also obtained her doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah. Forrest achieved Board Certification in Healthcare Management through the American College of Healthcare Executives in August 2022.
