Katherine Wolf, speech therapist at Encompass Health of Bakersfield, discusses Go Red for Women Day

In honor of Go Red for Women Day, Katherine Wolf of Encompass Health of Bakersfield joined KBAK FOX 58 to bring awareness to women's heart health. In the United States, heart disease is the topmost killer of women, killing one in three women. That’s almost a woman a minute. Katherine Wolf has her own special story as she has struggled with a rare brain disease called moyamoya. It causes the blood vessels in the brain to get really tiny and not make blood flow. That causes her strokes. She has overgone two brain surgeries, along with the ten strokes she suffered. Katherine had to learn how to speak, walk, read and write again.
