Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City continues commitment to care excellence by adding on-site cardiology services

PANAMA CITY, Fla., June 9, 2023— Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Panama City recently expanded its patient care services by adding on-site cardiologists to its medical staff and expanding its telemetry monitoring capabilities, as an addition to the existing The Joint Commission Heart Failure program.

The team of cardiologists at Encompass Health of Panama City will include three board certified cardiologists who are credentialed in several cardiac specialties. Dr. Don Davis, FACC is board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography; Dr. Francis Le is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, clinical cardiac electrophysiology and is Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner; Dr. Ajay Labroo, FACC, NBPAS is board certified interventional cardiology and peripheral interventions. In addition, the support of several nurse practitioners and physicians assistants.

The expansion of wireless telemetry monitors provides the clinical team with the capability to monitor more patients 24/7 while inpatient. On average, there are ten patients being monitored at once through the telemetry system. With the help of Digital Diagnostics Institute, physicians are able to monitors a patient’s heart rate and rhythm remotely real-time.

The existing Joint Commission Heart Failure Program at the hospital focuses on improving endurance, teaching energy conservation techniques, managing signs and symptoms and preventing hospital readmissions for patients following cardiac injury. Patients attend classes taught by physicians, therapists, dietitians and other staff members focusing on disease management and lifestyle changes, such as diet.
