MODESTO, Calif., Nov. 27, 2023 - Alla “Al” Wazwaz has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Modesto. In his position as CEO, Wazwaz oversees the day-to-day operations as well as patient care and quality at the 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, located at 1303 Mable Avenue. He assumed the position in August.

Wazwaz brings nearly 10 years of experience to his new role as CEO. Prior to joining Encompass Health, he served as chief executive officer at Kindred Healthcare in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wazwaz has also served as a business development and strategy specialist, where he provided financial and business development expertise to the company’s leadership team.

“Al brings a wealth of leadership and health care experience to his role that make him a great fit to serve as CEO at the hospital,” said Kimberly Steward, President of Encompass Health’s West region. “He is an accomplished leader with proven success in improving business outcomes, and I am confident in his vision for the hospital.”

Wazwaz earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise biology from the University of California in Davis, California and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
