Shivani Bass Named CEO of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis-West County

BALLWIN, Mo., Mar. 6, 2024- Shivani Bass has been appointed as chief executive officer of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis- West County, a joint venture between BJC Healthcare and Encompass Health. The hospital is a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction at 998 Woods Mill Road in Ballwin, Missouri. The hospital is expected to open to patients in May 2024.

Bass will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the hospital, as well as patient care and quality. She will continue to serve as CEO of The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis at St. Peters. The hospital will provide 24-hour nursing care along with physical, occupational and speech therapies to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries, including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and complex orthopedic conditions.

Prior to her role as CEO, Bass served as director of therapy operations at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis. In this position, she was responsible for managing the therapy department and assisted the hospital in achieving several Joint Commission certifications including stroke, brain injury, amputee, spinal cord injury and wound care.

Bass earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science at the University of Delaware and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a licensed physical therapist.
