Andrew Strausbaugh named CEO of Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Mar. 11, 2024 - Andrew Strausbaugh has been appointed as chief executive officer of Baptist Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint-venture between Baptist Health and Encompass Health. The hospital is a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction at 11800 Bluegrass Parkway in Louisville. The hospital is expected to begin caring for patients in Summer 2024.

Strausbaugh will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the hospital, as well as patient care and quality. The hospital will provide 24-hour nursing care along with physical, occupational and speech therapies to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries, including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and complex orthopedic conditions.

Prior to joining Encompass Health, Strausbaugh served as senior manager at Blue & Co., LLC in Louisville, Kentucky, where he served as a consultant to various hospitals assisting with margin enhancement and productivity analysis. From 2016 to 2022, Strausbaugh also served as chief administrative officer of Norton Brownsboro Hospital, a 197-bed hospital in Louisville. During his time with the Norton Healthcare, he oversaw daily operations of all departments within the hospital including financial performance, staffing and productivity.

Strausbaugh earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana and a master’s degree in health administration from Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Strausbaugh is a member of the American College of Healthcare executives as well as the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
