PITTSBURGH, Penn., May XX, 2024 – Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Harmarville and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley recently unveiled their new EksoNR technology for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and various neurological conditions.
EksoNR is a wearable exoskeleton that securely straps onto a patient’s body, offering assistance with balance, weight-shifting, and gait training. With the ability to adjust the exoskeletons settings in real time, our team of therapists are able to provide targeted support during physical therapy sessions as it helps patients strengthen their muscles and improve their ability to walk.
“Our goal within our hospitals is to provide high quality patient care that is tailored to each of our patient’s needs. One of the key advantages of this technology is its ability to adapt to each patient's specific conditions,” said Michelle Cunningham, CEO of Encompass Health of Harmarville. “This flexibility allows for maximum time spent in therapy, optimizing the rehabilitation process and promoting faster recovery allowing our patients to recover and get back to what matters most in a shorter amount of time.”
Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Harmarville and Sewickley serve patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries including strokes, amputations, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
