Aug. 2, 2022 - Encompass Health is proud to announce that its Chief Medical Officer Elissa Charbonneau has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives in 2022. The recognition program acknowledges clinicians working in the healthcare industry who are deemed by their peers and an expert panel to be the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact.Since 2015, Charbonneau has overseen medical operations at the company’s 150 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, 54 of which are joint ventures, along with its home health and hospice locations. Her strategy includes refining data analysis to target better quality of care. She has implemented one tool that mines the system’s electronic health record system to identify patients at high risk of readmissions, and another that helps reduce opioid prescriptions by tracking morphine milligram-equivalent doses rather than the number of pills prescribed.
