Chief Executive Officer
David has served as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock since September 2018. David first joined Encompass Health in 2012. He has spent the majority of his healthcare career in critical care and rehabilitation leadership positions. He has held various leadership positions within Encompass Health, including CNO-trainer for the Company’s southwest region and chief nursing officer of the Encompass Health hospitals in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Arlington, Texas. A graduate of International College and a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, David’s focus is to continuously improve the hospital’s performance to exceed the expectations of patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
Medical Director
Dr. Octavio Vela has been at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock since 2016. He completed a transitional internship in both orthopedic and neurosurgery, followed by a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio. Dr. Vela has professional affiliations with American Medical Association and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Vela is an independent private practice physician.
Health Information Management Director
Tina has more than 25 years of health information management experience in various healthcare facilities. She joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in 2015. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a bachelor’s degree in health information management and earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix with a focus on healthcare management.
Business Development Director
Dominique has served as the business development director at Encompass Health Round Rock since October 2020 and has been with Encompass Health for over five years, serving first as both a clinical and senior rehabilitation liaison. Dominique has two master’s degrees in health and business administration from Pfeiffer University and a bachelor’s degree in cardiorespiratory care from the University of South Alabama. Dominique has more than 10 years of bedside experience as a registered respiratory therapist and is a part of various boards and volunteer organizations throughout the community.
Chief Nursing Officer
Jennifer has been a registered nurse for more than 40 years with most of her clinical experience in intensive care nursing in the acute care setting. Originally from Canada, she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing leadership from UT Tyler. Jennifer recently joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock and is committed to ensure regulatory compliance, excellence in quality of care, and exemplary patient experience. Her focus on culture and employee engagement has been a key ingredient to her success as a leader, and she looks to continue this work in her role at Encompass Health.
Director of Pharmacy
Jee serves as director of pharmacy for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock. She has been with Encompass Health since 2018 where she enjoys collaborating with diverse healthcare professionals of the rehabilitation team to ensure excellent patient care and satisfaction. She earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy and is currently pursuing a master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences with a concentration in pharmaceutical outcomes and policy from the University of Florida. She continues to lead and precept PharmD students focused on patient-centered care and interprofessional leadership tailored to the needs of inpatient rehabilitation hospital patients.
Human Resources Director
Lisa has worked with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock since March 2014 and brings more than 10 years of human resource experience to the team. She is originally from Brenham, Texas, and relocated to Austin in 1996. Lisa is dedicated to our family of employees and places extreme emphasis on success through teamwork.
Director of Case Management
Maria brings more than 10 years of case management expertise to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital. A Michigan native, she graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work in 2000. She received her Certification in Case Management (CCM) in 2017. Maria joined Encompass Health Round Rock as a case manager in 2015 before being promoted to director of case management in 2020. As the director of case management, she serves as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care is provided.
Director of Therapy Operations
Christie has been practicing in the field of occupational therapy for more than 18 years. She has worked for the Encompass Health network since 2009 and has a passion for assisting patients and their families in achieving the highest outcome for their independence and success at home and in the community. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Tech University in 1996, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy in 1998 from The University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio.
Director of Quality & Risk
Marcy is a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Louisiana. She has spent the majority of her career working in quality and patient safety in the Houston area. Marcy obtained a master’s degree in business administration while working full time and supporting a family. Her mission is to ensure Encompass Health Round Rock provides the quality of care with a personal touch to all patients and their families with a goal to promote a maximum level of productivity upon returning to their community.
