Hospital Happenings

At Encompass Health of Arlington, we are grateful to have therapy dog Sabrina to assist our stroke survivors with rehabilitation. Sabrina helps our patients, like Mrs. Langley, maximize and enjoy their therapy sessions, including helping them reach and stand. In these sessions, the animal can assist the patient with a variety of symptoms, including aphasia, spasticity, and depression. Pet therapy can help jumpstart performance, provides all-natural pain relief, can reduce stress, and anxiety and can lower the patient’s blood pressure and heart rate.
