Parkinson’s Awareness Month

April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Parkinson’s disease is a type of movement disorder that can affect the ability to perform common, daily activities. There are an estimated 1 million Americans living with Parkinson’s disease and more than 10 million people worldwide (APDA).

At Encompass Health Braintree we are keenly aware of the immense affects Parkinson’s disease can have on a person’s quality of life. We have an intensive Parkinson’s disease movement disorders program, consisting of neurologists and physical, occupational and speech therapists who work together to make a comprehensive plan to help our patient’s return home at a safer and higher level.
