Best wishes to Jeanine Jarowicz as she retires from NERHP after 21 years of leadership and impact. Jeanine began her tenure as our controller in 2001, and became our CEO in 2012.
During her time at NERHP, Jeanine worked with the board and senior leadership to set the standard for exceptional care provided to more than 40,000 patients. She oversaw the development and implementation of the specialty program care for stroke, brain injury, hip fracture and patients with a lower extremity amputation. While a controller, she was area controller and was responsible for Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Concord in addition to NERHP. She was also a mentor and preceptor for other controllers and CEOs.
Jeanine was active in the community, and was a dedicated supporter of the American Heart Association. She served on the executive leadership team of the Maine Heart Walk for several years, and was walk co-chair in 2015. She was also a member of the board of the Maine Hospital Association. As CEO, Jeanine built a strong relationship between our hospital and the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
Jeanine brought compassion, vision and focus to NERHP. Her leadership was invaluable to our team, particularly in light of the challenges of the last few years. We thank her for her dedicated service to the hospital, our team members, patients and their families, and the community we serve.
