We are excited to highlight our speech therapist, Lauren James! Below, Lauren describes why she became a speech therapist.

"I first became interested in the field of speech-language pathology because my mom is a speech pathologist in the school district in my hometown. I thought it was amazing that she could help students improve their ability to express themselves. After becoming a speech pathologist myself, I have found it to be a rewarding career, in which I can help a diverse population of clients improve their communication, cognitive skills and swallowing. My favorite part of working at Encompass Health is the interdisciplinary team approach to treatment. I love that I am able to collaborate with excellent therapists, case managers, nurses and physicians to provide holistic care to our patients."
