At Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Wichita Falls and serving the surrounding area include Vernon and Graham, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, hip fracture, Parkinson’s disease and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.

Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals.

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits.

Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed.

The Stroke Center of Excellence award is part of Encompass Health’s internal recognition program to highlight accomplishments within our rehabilitation hospitals. It is achieved through a dedication, hard work and superior patient outcomes. To meet strict certification criteria, hospitals must provide high quality services, and the program must meet The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and hold The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification in Stroke Rehabilitation to qualify.

Boyd Davis

Chief Executive Officer

Boyd joined Encompass Health in 2010 and joins us at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls as the CEO.

Boyd joined Encompass Health in 2010 and joins us at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls as the CEO. He is originally from Ohio where he and his family were raised. He has served in various leadership roles in home health, inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to joining the Wichita Falls team, Boyd worked at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson as an associate administrator in the Developing Future CEO program. Boyd holds a bachelor’s degree in human movement and development from Bowling Green State University, a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Findlay, and another master’s degree in health administration from Ohio University. He loves spending time with his wife and four children along with weightlifting and being active in his many church responsibilities.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree in 1982 in India. He moved to the United States and completed a residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College in 1995.

Dr. Patel has been affiliated with Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls since 1999 and served as an attending physician for more than 10 years.

Lauren is the director of quality/risk management and has been employed by Encompass Health Rehabilitation of Wichita Falls since 2007. 
Lauren is the director of quality/risk management and has been employed by Encompass Health Rehabilitation of Wichita Falls since 2007. She began her Encompass Health career as an LVN, later became an RN and then served as the nurse manager from 2014 to 2017. She transferred to the role of director of case management from 2017 until 2018. A native of Wichita Falls, Lauren brings great diversity to the team with her broad knowledge of the hospital and her focus on patient-centered outcomes. She is a strong patient advocate, constantly looking for ways to ensure our patients receive a high-quality experience.

Christi began her career with Encompass Health in August 2018 as a certified director of case management.

Christi began her career with Encompass Health in August 2018 as a certified director of case management. Prior to joining Encompass Health Wichita Falls, she served in various healthcare roles including, chief operating officer, director of case management, and as a nurse in mother-baby and emergency room. She brings more than 26 years of healthcare experience and has clinical and leadership healthcare background. Christi received his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Texas, Arlington and earned her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. Christi’s passion is case management. She strives to ensure there is effective communication and the facilitation of care along a continuum through effective resource coordination. Her goal for the patient is the achievement of optimal health, and access to care after discharge.

Jody joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls as chief nursing officer in 2015.

Jody joined Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls as chief nursing officer in 2015. His background includes critical care, trauma and orthopedic nursing. With more than 15 years of healthcare experience, he also has over 20 years of experience in leadership. A Wichita Falls native, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Midwestern State University. Additionally, Jody earned his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. His oversight of responsibilities includes nursing, respiratory, dietician, radiology, education, infection control and wound care. He provides a strong emphasis on patient-centered care along with patient perception.

LeAndra was named director of pharmacy of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls in October of 2020, after serving as a staff pharmacist since early 2018.

LeAndra was named director of pharmacy of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Wichita Falls in October of 2020, after serving as a staff pharmacist since early 2018. Her diverse healthcare experience includes extensive roles in hospital and community retail pharmacy. LeAndra received a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. While overseeing all functions at the hospital’s pharmacy to ensure the safe, effective and accurate use of medications for our patients, she is committed to a team-approach focused on improving patient’s lives.

Cassie began her career with Encompass Health in September 2011. 

Cassie began her career with Encompass Health in September 2011. She graduated from Butler University with a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders then obtained her master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois before relocating to Wichita Falls, Texas. Cassie has worked as a speech pathologist, therapy team leader and therapy manager prior to becoming the directory of therapy operations in 2019, for which she oversees the wonderfully skilled therapy department. With a focus on ensuring all patients receive functional, meaningful therapy during their stay, her goal is that all patients are fully prepared to return to the home and community setting.

Dr. Patel has served as the hospital’s associate medical director for almost 15 years.

Dr. Patel has served as the hospital’s associate medical director for almost 15 years. With 30 years of healthcare experience, she graduated from M.P. Shah Medical College in Jamnagar, India in 1982.  Thereafter, in 1984 she completed an obstetrics and gynecology residency and became board certified by the India Board of OBS/GYN.   She moved to the United States and completed a residency in internal medicine in 1995, at the New York Medical College, where she was appointed chief resident. She has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1996.
