April 29, 2024 – Kathryn Duval has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Lakeland. The hospital is a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 1201 Oakbridge Parkway.
“Kathryn brings more than 25 years of experience in operational leadership to her new role with a proven track record in the post-acute, inpatient rehabilitation setting,” said Lori Bedard, president of Encompass Health’s Southeast region. “I am confident that she will continue to facilitate the best patient rehabilitative care experience here at Encompass Health of Lakeland.”
Duval most recently served as associate vice president of operations at University of Florida Health Shands, a private, nonprofit, magnet hospital with more than 1,000 beds affiliated with the University of Florida. Prior to that role, she served as associate administrator at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota. She previously held roles in operational leadership at several health systems in Virginia and Colorado.
Duval earned a bachelor’s degree in audiology and speech sciences from Purdue University and master’s degrees in communication disorders and business administration from Colorado State University.
