Medical Director
Dr. Morrione completed a geriatric fellowship at Maine Medical Center and joined New England Rehabilitation Hospital in 2008. A graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Morrione completed his residency in family medicine at Maine Medical Center. He is a member of the American Geriatric Society and is board-certified in family medicine and in geriatric medicine. Dr. Morrione is also on staff at Maine Medical Center.
Dr. Morrione is an independent private practice physician.
Controller
Stacy joined New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland in March 2023. She brings with her more than 20 years of experience in healthcare finance. Stacy began as a CPA in the healthcare industry and then transitioned to the private sector, working as a finance manager in a homecare agency. Stacy earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Maine.
Director of Pharmacy
Kate began her pharmacy career at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland in January 2014. She was a clinical staff pharmacist until 2019, when she joined our leadership team as the director of pharmacy. She has clinical experience in psychiatry and is board certified in geriatrics. Kate also precepts pharmacy students from the University of New England College of Pharmacy, her alma mater.
Director of Case Management
Laura came to New England Rehabilitation Hospital in October 2018 with many years of case management experience in both the public and private sector. She holds a B.A. in Criminology from the University of Southern Maine, and a Master’s Social Work Degree from the University of New England. Laura is a proud Navy Mom. In her free time she enjoys spending time outdoors and offshore fishing with her family.
Business Development Director
Cathy joined our leadership team as business development director in early 2021 with more than 20 years of healthcare experience, as both an occupational therapist and case manager at NERHP. Having worked across the continuum of post-acute healthcare in Maine, she has a deep knowledge and established relationships in the community. Cathy is focused on leading our admissions team to create opportunities for patients to achieve their best possible outcomes. She earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of New England.
Director of Facilities Management
Paul joined New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland's leadership team in March 2020 with more than 10 years of healthcare experience. He has spent time working in the business office, quality department and most recently overseeing the materials management. Before his time in healthcare, Paul spent over a decade running a successful small business in residential and commercial construction.
Director of Quality and Risk Management
Torey joined New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland as director of quality and risk management in September 2019. She brings more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field. Her career has included direct patient care as well as nursing and quality leadership roles. Torey excels in all areas of quality, from facilitating positive patient and family experiences to quality improvement processes and government communications. She received her BSN from St. Joseph’s College.
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Savage comes to us from his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Savage is a graduate of Hamilton College and earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Dr. Savage is an independent private practice physician.
Chief Nursing Officer
Vicki joined the team at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland (NERHP) in 2017 and has more than 13 years of inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience. Prior to becoming CNO, she had eight years of nursing leadership experience in management and supervisory roles. Vicki is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) and a member of the Association for Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN). She received her master's degree in nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Mary in 2020. Vicki has special interests in nursing quality and education and in 2021 she was the recipient of the NERHP leadership award.
