KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Nov. 12, 2024- Cody Murdock has been appointed as chief executive officer of Rehabilitation Hospital of Kingsport. The 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital is located at 113 Cassel Drive in Kingsport, Tennessee. Rehabilitation Hospital of Kingsport is a joint venture between Ballad Health and Encompass Health.
“For 33 years, Rehabilitation Hospital of Kingsport has been setting the standard for inpatient rehabilitation care in the Tri-Cities area,” said Murdock. “I am honored to lead this hospital’s incredible staff to help patients return to what matters most.”
Murdock brings 14 years of healthcare experience to Encompass Health. Most recently, he was the associate administrator at Johnson City Medical Center, where he managed clinical and non-clinical departments. Murdock was also instrumental in budget development, overseeing facility renovation projects and supporting hospital leaders during critical staffing challenges.

Murdock holds a master’s degree in public health and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from East Tennessee State University. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Murdock has previously served as a board member for the Tennessee Society for Organizational Improvement, an affiliate group of the Tennessee Hospital Association.
